Position Overview:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and scalability. This position requires advanced knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, as well as experience supporting Cisco Voice systems. The ideal candidate will hold a CCNP certification or higher and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Core Networking: Design, configure, and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, WAN, and LAN.
- Voice Systems: Support and maintain Cisco Voice systems, including tasks such as:
- Tracing and troubleshooting voice calls.
- Creating and managing Device Pools and Call Search Spaces.
- Conducting voice packet captures and analyzing them to identify and resolve call issues.
- Troubleshooting SIP connectivity and related issues.
- Network Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Incident Resolution: Respond to and resolve network incidents and outages in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including security, operations, and voice support teams, to support business initiatives.
- Technology Advancement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and certifications to enhance technical capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in network engineering roles with a focus on core routing and switching.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, WAN, LAN, and other route/switch technologies.
- Voice Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with Cisco Voice technologies, including:
- Call trace and troubleshooting.
- Device Pool and Call Search Space creation and management.
- Voice packet capture and analysis.
- Troubleshooting SIP connectivity issues.
- Certifications: CCNP certification or higher is required.
- Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with network monitoring tools, packet capture tools, and Cisco network hardware.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and resolve complex network and voice system issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Direct Route (Teams calling) is a plus but not a requirement.
- Knowledge of network security best practices.
- Experience with additional network protocols and cloud networking technologies.
